Install ¶
Riffly is a desktop Chrome extension. Open rifflylabs.com, click "Install on Chrome, it's free," accept the standard extension permissions (LinkedIn page access only, no other sites), and the icon lands in your toolbar. If you'd rather create an account first, sign up herethe dashboard has the install button.
The extension only runs on linkedin.com tabs. It cannot read your Gmail, your other browser tabs, or anything outside LinkedIn.
First draft ¶
Open a candidate's LinkedIn profile. The first time, you'll want to pin Riffly's icon to the toolbar so it's one click away, click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome's top-right, find Riffly in the list, click the pin.
Click the Riffly icon. The popup opens, anchored to the right of the page. Type your pitch in the box ("Senior backend role at Series B fintech, $180k OTE, fully remote, 4-day work week"). Hit Generate. In about 8 seconds you'll see three drafts: a cold opener, a follow-up, and a breakup.
Click Copy on the variant you want, paste into LinkedIn's own message composer, edit anything that needs tweaking, and hit Send manually. You're back on the profile page, ready for the next one.
Voice fingerprint Pro+ ¶
Voice fingerprint is what makes Riffly's drafts sound like youyour contraction rate, your sign-off, your typical opener style, the cadence you actually write at, instead of generic ChatGPT. Available on Pro and above.
Set it up from the dashboard: open /dashboard, find the Voice fingerprint card, paste in three messages you've actually written and sent before. Riffly extracts the structural patterns (it does not store the literal text or share it) and applies them to every draft going forward.
Want to update it? Same screen. Replace one of the three pasted messages with a fresher one and hit Recompute. The new fingerprint takes effect on the next draft.
Job specs Plus+ ¶
Job specs are stored descriptions of the roles you're sourcing for, title, must-haves, nice-to-haves, comp, location. They power Active Profile Assist, which scores every LinkedIn profile you visit against your specs. Available on Plus and above; up to 5 active specs at once.
Add a spec from the dashboard's Job specs tab. Either paste a JD and let Riffly parse it, or fill the structured fields directly. Active Profile Assist starts scoring profiles as soon as you have at least one spec saved.
The score appears as a small badge inside the Riffly popup when you visit a profile: green (likely fit), amber (partial), grey (skip). It's a hint, not a verdict, recruiter judgment still wins.
Saved searches Plus+ ¶
Saved searches are LinkedIn search URLs you've registered with Riffly so we can run them daily and email you the top new candidates. Plus and above. The whole point is that you stop manually scrolling the same searches every morning.
Add one from the dashboard's Saved searches tab. Paste the LinkedIn search URL (you can save Sales Navigator searches too), give it a label, pick which job spec to score against, and set the daily digest time.
Every morning at the time you set, Riffly emails you the top 5-10 candidates from each saved search, scored against the spec, with a one-click "open in LinkedIn" link. You decide who's worth a draft.
Billing ¶
Upgrades, downgrades, cancels, refunds, all from the dashboard's Billing tab, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Riffly never sees your card.
Upgrade: takes effect immediately. We prorate the difference. Your next invoice reflects the new tier.
Cancel-at-period-end: click Cancel in the Stripe portal. Your subscription stays active through the end of the current billing period; nothing renews. No retention call, no "are you sure" loop.
Refunds: within the first 30 days, hit reply on your receipt email, full refund, no questions asked. After 30 days, prorated refund based on unused days. Full policy at /refunds.
Downgrade path: Plus → Pro and Pro → Free both work. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period, you keep your higher-tier features until then. Same Billing tab.
Troubleshooting ¶
Extension icon doesn't appear: click Chrome's puzzle-piece icon (top-right, next to your profile picture), find Riffly in the dropdown, click the pin so it stays visible in the toolbar. If Riffly isn't in the dropdown at all, the extension didn't install, try the Install steps again.
Generate button stays disabled: two requirements need to be met. (1) The pitch box has at least a sentence. (2) You're on a LinkedIn profile page (URL starts with linkedin.com/in/). If you're on the LinkedIn home feed or a search results page, Generate is intentionally disabled, there's no profile to draft against.
Sign-in didn't bridge to the extension: if you signed up on the website but the extension still says "sign in to continue," open /dashboard#install and click the Connect extension button. That bridges your account into the extension.
Drafts feel generic for my niche: see the next item, there's a fix.
